Men, don’t beat yourself up this Summer for Stalling

Over the last month or so, I found myself gradually scaling back on my blogging, content creation and communicating weekly with my subscribers. Inwardly, I started getting down on myself for stalling. And then…. I felt guilty for letting my followers down for not sending them the inspirational weekly content as promised.

With a change of mindset, I came to realise, that stalling was my body’s way of telling me that I needed to recharge. Prior to and during the pandemic, I had worked non-stop, having launched a number of online programs. I also started and maintained a private practice and wrote a book in less than two years — without taking a break. How could I have taken a break when we were in lockdown for almost two years?

By stalling for the whole month of July, I owed it to my audience to rest, recharge and stay still so that I can show up with new and fresh content for them in August 2022. By stalling, I was applying my self-care strategies which I encouraged my target audience to do. Stalling was my body’s way of putting preventative and protective measures in place for me to avoid burnout. I am so grateful that I stalled and took time out to recharge my batteries.

When you stall, don’t berate yourself, listen to your body, and don’t be too quick to rev the engine. Stalling may mean that your energy fuel is low and you need a top-up. Find ways to recharge — you owe to yourself, your friends, your family and your world.

He brought me out into a broad place; He rescued me because He was pleased with me and delighted in me. Psalm 18:19
