Down BUT not out

One of my greatest goals is to journey with individuals on the brink to give life a second chance. I would ask them what would it take, for them to hold on to life, and to enter into their tomorrow alive. Perhaps, you are one of those individuals who are on the point of giving up. There is hope in your tomorrow. You are not an accident. You didn’t just come into existence by chance all those years ago. God has a plan and purpose for your life. He knew you before you were formed and fashioned in your mother’s womb. You have a purpose. The key is knowing what your purpose on earth is. I have heard how keynote speakers have referenced how the tests, trials and tribulations we face in our life become our ‘testimony’ and how our ‘mess’ can become our message which helps transforms the lives of those around us. There is some truth to these statements. I am not talking about a multitude of people. I am referring to one person you chat to regularly at the local store or on the metro.

The Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 4:8, 9 described how he was hedged in (pressed) on every side [troubled and oppressed in every way], BUT not cramped or crushed; he suffered embarrassments and was perplexed and unable to find a way out, BUT he was not driven to despair;

The Apostle Paul was pursued (persecuted and hard-driven), BUT not deserted [to stand alone]; he was struck down to the ground, BUT never struck out and destroyed;

You may be down BUT you are not out. By God’s grace, you will not stay down. You are already a victor. You will gradually get up on your feet, and emerge standing tall and standing strong.

‘Do not fear [anything], for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation]. — Isaiah 41:10
