How to Overcome the Storms of Life
Every day, we are waking up to the news and press coverage of rising inflations rates, cost of living prices, war and high energy bills. There is that risk that the negative reporting can make one feel overwhelmed and very uncertain about ones’ future. So how do we look after ourselves in turbulent times? I believe the key is self-care or taking care of one’s mind, soul, spirit and body. It’s so important that you do not allow the news or whatever is happening in the world to make you spiral downwards both mentally and physically — though I do agree that it’s easier said than done.
If you are in mid-flight on the plane, and there is turbulence and high winds, the pilot will announce over the cockpit to all passengers to tighten their seat belts. When I face life turbulence, I tighten my seat belt (metaphorically speaking) by taking comfort by standing promises on the word of God, the Bible especially the Book of Isaiah 43:2
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned or scorched, nor will the flame kindle upon you.
God promises in Isaiah 43:2 that when you feel you are in rough waters, you will not go down, you will not be swept away. When you are in between a rock and a hard place, it won’t be a dead-end. God will be with you when the storms of life come…
That’s how much you mean to God! That’s how much He love you! He’d sell off the whole world to get you back, trade the creation just for you..
