A relationship breakup can leave an individual in an emotional state of confusion or disbelief. You may have been blamed for the break-up or you may blame your significant other. No matter, who is to blame or not, it is vitally important to take that extra care around focusing on your emotional wellbeing. The key is to bring your state, however, difficult it is to the state of calmness and quietness. You may endure a torrent of emotions and thoughts and triggers in your mind spurting up like wildfire. Take time out to nurture your soul or your ‘inner man’ by pursuing peace.

Pursuing peace is about having that inner assurance that whatever turmoil you are going through, this too shall pass. It reminds me of this verse from scripture, from Psalm 30:5 weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. You may be feeling hurt today. You may be crying inwardly, or hiding your tears. One day, my friend, joy and healing will come in your tomorrow.

Pursuing peace is about not coming down to another person’s level to get even. You may end up feeling worse off. Whatever, injustice you may have faced, God has already promised you that he will fight your battle as in the scriptural verse of Exodus 14:14, The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

When faced with a similar situation, I struggled to find pursue peace on my own and so I asked God to give me peace. I was filled with peace. After all, He is the God of peace. I stood on the promises of God in John 14:27 which says ‘Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid’

And so I end by saying that there is hope… you will emerge from the storm, stronger than you’ve ever been before because God promises to give you strength my friend and to bless with peace.

“The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace”, Psalm 29:11
