Glimmer of Hope in your Darkest Hour
Whatever challenges you are facing right now, there is light at the end of the tunnel. If you are in the thick of the deepest despair of your life, there is a candle flame glistening brightly in the darkness. Do you recall these words ‘every cloud has a silver lining?. What do these phrases have in common? They convey the message of hope in the face of hopelessness and despondency.
During the deepest, darkest and most painful period of life, I encountered a friend who sticks closer today than a brother (Proverbs 18:24). A friend who promised me that He would never leave me nor forsake me (Hebrews 13:5). A friend who was my advocate, who prayed for me and argued my case in the heavenly courts (1 John 2:1) . A friend who instilled hope in me, who dared me to ask and it shall be given unto me, to seek and I shall find, to knock and the door shall be opened to me. For everyone one who asks, receives and the one who seeks finds. (Matthew 7:7). This friend, was my first love and my mentor. He encouraged me and is still encouraging me today in using my gifts and talents (Matthew 25:14 -3) When I was sick, He healed me and gave me life. He was the source of my peace. When I was anxious and experienced, He reassured me not to worry and not to allow my heart to be troubled. (Matthew 6:25–34). He taught me how to pray. He gave me the strength to forgive others (Matthew 6:14). His parental love and guidance warned me not to judge others. (Matthew 7:1–6). He gave me a divine purpose for my life and I credit Him for giving me this message of hope which I am sharing with the world today. I want to pay tribute today to my friend and my brother. He laid down His life for me that I may live. He was crucified on the cross, so that I may not perish. I am proud to call Jesus Christ of Nazareth my friend, my brother and my Lord today.
